Is he her enemy or her future?
When a handsome stranger arrives in a remote outback town, Maggie Hayes’ almost forgotten dreams are re-awakened. For too long, she’s denied her adventurous spirit and now suddenly her future is filled with wonderful possibilities. At least it will be if only this intriguing man isn’t her beloved town’s enemy.
A past tragedy has led Jace de Haven to live without the complications of family or companionship. Yet when he meets small-town Maggie, her big heart and vibrant community spirit show him what he’s been missing. Can he find it in his soul to forgive and allow old wounds to heal?
But to have the future they crave, Maggie and Jace will need to take a leap of faith - together.
***
Under an Outback Sky is a love story and the fourth book in the Edge of the Outback series. The book is about forgiving the past and finding the courage to forge a new direction in life. If you love reading about small towns, country and rural communities (like Bindarra Creek romances) then you’ll love this series – similar to books by Barbara Hannay, Bella Andre, Melody Grace, Nora Roberts, Maisey Yates, Sarah Williams, Susanne Bellamy, Annie Seaton, Fiona McArthur, Heidi McLaughlin.

What is the significance of your book's title?
My book title is significant both to the series but also to the story itself. I wanted to convey the vastness of the Outback, the sense of timelessness or something that could go on forever – like the sky and true love. The title also links to the series name: Edge of the Outback.
Did you find it meaningful?
Definitely. I wanted to weave the title into both Jace and Maggie’s future and this is portrayed at the end of the second last chapter.
What is the theme of this book?
Family relationships.
How were these themes brought to life?
For the heroine, Maggie, the theme of ‘family relationships’ in Under an Outback Sky is about the fear of disappointing / letting down those she loves as well as longing to fall in love and have a family of her own. Family expectations (both her own and her parents) have led her to place her dreams on hold and now she feels that life is passing her by. For Jace he has avoided confronting his parents and the tragic secret in his past because he believes that if he does so the last ties with his family will be severed forever. This has led him to shun relationships and live a life alone.
Tell us about your book...
Apart from a couple of short holidays, the heroine Maggie has lived in the remote area of Corner Country NSW, her entire life. She loves the land and her community but harbours secret dreams of meeting a special man and experiencing the challenges of a more exciting life together. Enter Jace, a man passing through the small town and who eventually reveals his life of living and working in Antarctica. He has his own demons that have held him back from fully experiencing all that life has to offer. They are instantly attracted to each other and to their surprise they eventually confide in one another as a strong emotional bond grows between them. They also have a little help from a close friend and another newcomer to town who has his own agenda.
