Do you have any writing habits?
Yes, I do! My writing routine has become one of my favorite parts of the day. I start with a cup of coffee and head up on deck to watch the sunrise over the water—it’s such a peaceful way to begin. Then I dive into writing until about 10:00 a.m. After that, I take a break for chores before joining an online writing sprint that carries me through until noon. That rhythm of solitude, routine, and community keeps me grounded and productive.
Did you face any challenges while you were writing this story?
Yes, I did. While I was writing this story, I was also in the middle of selling my home of twenty-one years, and it was overwhelming to sort through so many memories. That sadness and grief found its way onto the page, shaping the emotions of my characters in a very real way. But in the end—just like in my stories—there’s always a Happily Ever After.

Such a beautiful and heartfelt post! This is also very close to my heart in that my father was a WWII veteran, and he died in 1984 at the age of 64. I was just 27 years old and an only child, having lost my mother a year earlier.
